A few members have asked how they can post directly to their own blog here on [bb]. This article will show you one way you can make posts.
- If you do not have a Blog listed on this page, ask us to create one for you!
- Download and install Microsoft Windows Live Writer
- Open up Windows Live Writer
- Click on the "Weblog" menu
- Click on "Add Weblog Account"
On the "Choose Blog Type" screen
Click:
- Another weblog service
- Next
On the "Weblog Homepage and Login" screen
Enter in the following and click Next:
- Homepage URL: http://bloomingboomer.com/blogs/[YOU USERNAME]/default.aspx
- Username: YOUR USERNAME
- Password: Your Password
On the "Select Provider" Screen
Choose "Community Server" from the drop down list and enter in the following for the "Remote posting URL for your weblog:" http://bloomingboomer.com/blogs/metablog.ashx
On the "Weblog Configuration Complete" Screen
Enter in a title for your blog and hit "Finish"
It is possible that you see an error like this:
If you do, just hit "OK"
And you are done!
You should now be able to use Windows Live Writer just like your favorite word processor (Microsoft Word?) and write away. Once you are done writing you just hit "Publish"
