I've been retired for six years and having a great time. It seems to me that some retired friends are not as good at retirement as others. I think you have to have a lot of hobbies or really involved in a few. If you don't you might find yourself bored and wishing you didn't "pull the plug" Hopefully your spouse will also have hobbies or a job so you have some "time off" from your spouse because sometimes people are on top of each other all the time and get on each others nerves. Thankfully thats not my situation. My wife still works part time and that leaves me time for uhm golf, tennis ah fishing or maybe a little online poker oh maybe a little yard work eh?- ah I think the stripers are running. Its really great if both you and your spouse can enjoy the same intersts and go off together and have a good time.My wife and I love to travel and are planning a trip to Lake Powell --maybe I can talk her into riding the rapids of the Colorado through the Grand Canyon.
